Job Purpose
Ensure the smooth operation of the company’s value stream by ensuring the timely provision of raw materials and critical inputs while upholding a price-quality equilibrium that aligns with the business unit’s requirements, thereby guaranteeing customer satisfaction. Moreover, this role entails taking charge of negotiations with current suppliers to secure improved economic and supply terms, as well as actively engaging in the exploration of new supplier options.
Duties and responsibilities
- Provide weekly follow-up on raw material requirements using the MRP system to monitor and ensure timely supply of materials according to company demand.
- Quote, manage, and track purchase orders for raw materials and critical supplies of the company using Plex and complementary tools to ensure their delivery on required dates.
- Lead efforts with suppliers to arrange product availability issues through close communication, ensuring long-term supply constraint problems are resolved or escalated as appropriate.
- Conduct biweekly monitoring of tool and critical supply inventories through demand analysis and available inventory, ensuring timely replenishment.
- Lead cost-saving projects through new negotiations or the creation of new suppliers in coordination with internal departments of the company, contributing to the company’s annual cost reduction goal.
- Prospect new suppliers for new or existing projects, through internet research, participation in trade fairs, benchmarking, recommendations, and any other means that enable the company to improve its competitiveness and minimize risk.
- Propose continuous improvement projects through constant search for opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the purchasing department and/or other departments.
Education and/or work experience requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced English proficiency (B2+, C1).
- Knowledge of MRP systems (desirable)
- At least 3 years of experience in similar position
